Young Church
Our Young Church is a vibrant and growing part of our church community. We welcome children of all ages from babies to teens.
On Sundays we encourage families to sit together at the front of the church where the minister will share a bible story with the children at the beginning of the service. After 10-15 minutes the children will walk (or run!) down to the Burnside Hall. At any time during the service, it is ok for parents and babies or children to go into the coffee area at the back of the church where there are toys and books in the cupboard.
In the hall we have our own programme of worship where we seek to nurture and help the children learn about the Christian Faith. At the moment we are using material called “Hope is Alive” by the Wee Sparrow. After this we will be using material produced by Scripture Union Scotland called One Big Story. Our programmes have games, crafts and stories. Sometimes we meet for activities outside – bulb planting in the Burnside Hall garden was a recent activity. We always have a drink and snacks. There is also a designated creche area in the hall.
We seek to have a friendly, busy and relaxed atmosphere where the children learn more about Jesus while having fun.
As well as our Sunday programme we also have other events throughout the year. At Christmas 2020 we recorded our Christmas nativity outside then showed the video to the church congregation. “God is with us everywhere “by Fay Rowland was such a fun exciting experience for all involved in the event
During lockdown 2021 we became Young Church Outdoors and the families met outside on a Sunday morning. This was a great way for families to stay in touch with each and learn new skills such as football skills, den building, rock painting and biscuit decoration. We also had an Easter activity trail, a bushcraft session, a sports morning and delivered flowers and goodie bags to folk in the church community.
At Christmas 2021 we practised our Christmas Journey nativity outside and inside then performed to a full audience in December. Our event included children and adults and we were greatly encouraged by the support of the wonderful Clackmannanshire Brass band.
We are always delighted to welcome new children and families
