Special update on the Presbytery Draft Plan

As many of you know the Church of Scotland is going through a planning process, seeking to refocus our Mission purpose, ensure ministerial support for congregations in a time of national short supply, and to reduce the number of buildings held.

Dollar Parish Church has fully participated in these discussions, our work as a community has been assessed, and Stirling Presbytery has now published its Draft Plan for the next five years setting out how Mission, Minister and buildings issues will be taken forward.

The Draft Plan proposes that in the first instance we move towards a linked Ministry with Muckhart and Tillicoultry and that we retain both the Church Sanctuary and the Burnside Hall for our mission purpose.

This a positive outcome for us as a congregation.

We are asked to give a response to the Draft Plan by the 15th August.  Kirk Session has already met informally to discuss this, we will hold a congregational meeting at the beginning of August to gather further responses and the Draft plan can be discussed individually with your elder.

Stephen, Muriel and Ian will be around at coffee after the service this morning if you wish to discuss further.

Thank you.

Stephen Lambert, Muriel Simpson, Ian Simpson
