Whose we are and whom we serve

Dollar and Muckhart Guild

The Guild has served the Church of Scotland for 127 years and has met locally for more than a century.

Guild Projects – three within the UK and three overseas – are chosen and financially supported on a three-year cycle.

The last group – 2018 – 2021 raised a total of £638,000 divided amongst the causes chosen.

The current cycle of six will run from 2021 – 2024 supported by money raised by the Guilds of Scotland

Guild News

We meet at 2:00PM on the second Thursday in every month – in the coffee area at the back of the church please feel free to come along where you’ll be made very welcome

The Covid pandemic has affected our organisation as it has many another. All meetings were cancelled from March 2020 to September 2021. During this time, we kept in touch with all our members by hand-delivered Newsletters with suitably-distanced, doorstep chats by Committee members where possible, fulfilling last year’s Guild theme: “The Extra Mile”.

October 2021 saw the opening of what we hoped would be a “normal” year with speakers visits in October and November and even an early Christmas Party in December under prevailing Covid
restrictions.

January 2022 came with a meeting “on hold”, only to be cancelled along with the February meeting as regulations changed. Again all members were “lettered” with an explanation as further meetings
were planned as follows:

March 10th – Rev. D. Lee. Tillicoultry Baptist Church
April 14th – AGM  “Memories of Childhood” – Ella McDonald.

Although we have lost a few members over the year, we have also seen the addition of several new ones. The Guild spirit of worship, fellowship and friendship remains strong as we seek to encourage
others in Church and Community to experience a sense of “belonging”.
