About Us

Dollar Parish Church is part of the Church of Scotland .

As a Christian church we seek to share with the people of Dollar and beyond the Good News of Jesus Christ. As an active and enthusiastic congregation committed to that goal we are supported by our dedicated team of elders and co-workers.

Our Story

At the center of our life as a Christian faith community is a deep commitment to love and worship of God and our neighbours.

To that end as Christians in community we seek to live out our life by the rule of faith and life found in the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ. This means that we are committed expressing our love for God through our active care for each other and for those we live with and who encounter in our daily lives.

Our governing system is Presbyterian[1], which means that no one person or group within the Church has more influence or say than any other. The Church does not have one person who acts as the head of faith, as that role belongs to the Lord Jesus.

  1. The Church of Scotland is one of the largest organisations in Scotland with over 330,000 members. It plays a pivotal role in Scottish society, both through the work and witness of local congregations and our work and the work of organisations like CrossReach. Through The work of CrossReach the CoS delivers and supports a range of social care programmes in Scotland. It is one of the country’s largest provider of social services, CrossReach Services include care for older people, help with alcoholism, drug and mental health problems and assistance for homeless people and those with special learning needs.
  2. Although it is considered the national Church of Scotland it is important to note that as a Presbyterian church in matters of doctrine, government, discipline, and worship, the Church of Scotland is free of State interference.
